Tobiosho Japanese Maple Tree – 3 Gallon Pot

An impressive Japanese Maple suited for larger spaces, ‘Tobiosho’ is one of the faster and larger growing of the upright Acer palmatum cultivars. Adding up to 15 inches in size per year, it forms a broad canopy that can reach 20 feet tall and nearly as wide when all grown up. The highly ornamental palmate leaves of this beauty emerge and stay green through the warms seasons, but with the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall Tobioshio begins its unrivaled show of brilliant foliage colors. The show starts on the lower branches when golden-yellow leaves first appear then making their way through the top branches. Then comes the orange and scarlet shades until all three colors are present on the tree at once. The final act of the season occurs when all the leaves turn a glorious scarlet red. Attractive rough gray bark and red branches take the stage during winter. Numerous but subtle and pretty corymbs of red flowers dangle below and contrast beautifully with the light green foliage in mid spring.
