Description
An absolutely gorgeous Camellia, Buttons ‘n Bows features fully double, flowers with wavy soft pink petals shading to deeper pinks at the edges in mid to late winter continuing well into spring. The flowers stand out nicely against a backdrop of lustrous deep-green leaves. To enjoy the flowers indoors display several cuttings in your favorite vase, or float just one flower in a bowl of water.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing to about 6 to 8 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, the Buttons ‘n Bows Camellia can be grown as a shrub or small tree. As a shrub, it is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or as hedge or background plant in partially shaded landscape borders or is is especially nice as a corner plant or espalier (trained to grow flat against a wall) in home foundation plantings. As this camellia grows taller lower branches can be removed to form a highly attractive small evergreen tree that serves well as a focal point specimen in landscape borders and home foundation plantings. A fine addition to camellia gardens, white theme gardens, cottage gardens, cut flower gardens and woodland borders. Also suitable for containers that can be brought indoors during winter by those who live above USDA Zone 7a, where this cultivar is not reliably winter hardy. Find Your Zone
Suggested Spacing:  5 feet for solid hedge;  12 feet or more for space between plants
Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 7a, where this Camellia variety is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
Camellia adapt well to various soil types however prefer a moist but well-drained acidic soil that is rich in organic matter. Constantly soggy soil is a slow killer. In general, Camellia grows and blooms better in partial shade with some shelter from the hot afternoon sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sunlight is perfect. All-day filtered sun is fine.

My plant is beautiful. full of buds too.——————————————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
Two shrubs arrived in good shape and are still healthy. Although these shrubs are the same size as the identical one that I ordered last fall, these two are much larger and bushier than the first one that I ordered, so I expect success with them.——————————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
I just wanted to say i received my order and they are arrived in great condition. I was worried with the excessive heat they would be stressed but they look amazing thank you so much.————————————————————————–We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Saw the flower , HAD to have it .
Plant arrived in a ‘safe’. . Healthy and budded . Not a leaf broken or a stem bent , soil spillage was minimal and through drainage holes in pot as the shipping box was man handled in shipping .
The plant is lush with deep dark green shiny leaves ,one of the tiny buds are starting to open revealing the gorgeous pink and pale pink hues . … im not generally a fan of pink, prefer blue and purple or solid white tones in my flowers but l was smitten with this one instantly.
Since ‘button&bows ‘ arrival l have placed a second ,order,. as the care taken to ship one plant to arrive as well as it did , made me a returning customer. I have eclectic plant tastes, and the local box store just don’t rise to the level that Wilson Bros does .
Just wish l had my own yard and funds to binge on their selections .
Been a grower for 42 years . I appreciate the superior quality offered here ! Grow strong &propagate? Prosper ?
😉

The plant arrived in a secure box and it is VERY healthy. I can’t wait until it blooms!!——————————————We are so glad you are pleased with your purchase! Thanks for the kind words and great review! Beth | WBG 🙂
I can speak about the # 1 thing that every plant I had selected “spoke to me” and that “one thing” is uncompromising quality! It is quality in the plants; quality in the shipping process and the values in the fair pricing.
With not even one “miss,”among all I have order, you have earned and reinforced my trust! That is saying quite a bit these days! I keep reordering because your nursery products are “worth the $$”!
Two things that I have been patiently waiting on is: PIUS IX Camellia japonica and August Beauty gardenia. I hope that you will have them “for sale” soon again (in the large containers!)
Thanks guys! You both “rock!”
Most sincerely.————————————————————We are so glad you are pleased with your purchases! Thanks so much for the kind words and great review! Beth | WBG 🙂
The 3-gallon-size camellia was large, well-branched and healthy. It was packed carefully and arrived with no broken branches or spilled soil. I’ve ordered several times from Wilson Bros. and never been disappointed.————————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come!
